Each year local homes of historic or architectural interest are opened to the public for self-guided tours featuring knowledgeable docents in each home. Funds raised from ticket sales are used to support Healdsburg area public schools and scholarships. This event is sponsored by American Association of University Women, Healdsburg Branch (AAUW;www.healdsburgaauw.com). AAUW is pleased and proud to support HEF through contributions to their programs. Each year seven of Healdsburg’s lovely homes and gardens will be showcased. The homes on the tour are within walking distance of Healdsburg Plaza. Docents will be on hand to answer questions, and refreshments will be served at one of the homes. Historic Healdsburg Homes Tour on Facebook: | Healdsburg AAUW
The Healdsburg Education Foundation (HEF) is happy to announce that thanks to $15,000 in grants made through the Community Foundation Sonoma County and the James Miller Endowment Fund, the elementary music program at Healdsburg public schools will continue to thrive this school year. The funds will be used to support beginning band for 5th graders and music classes for elementary students.
HEF was delighted to receive a $10,000 gift from the AAUW to fund Hands-on Science for K-5 graders, one of the core classes of Healdsburg’s elementary Enrichment Program. This is the AAUW’s first gift to this wonderful program. In recent years this group of generous donors have supported many programs in our schools including library and music programs and the Naviance database, an essential resource used by our high school students in planning for college and career.
